I quite like the C-class and E-class (and esp the E-class coupe which is a bit of a hidden gem) - they are starting to get back a bit of that hewn from solid look of older mercs. But this, no. I want to like it - but there is something just wrong with the stance of it. I can't put my finger on it, it just doesn't look right. Even in AMG spec here it looks peculiar, which really doesn't bode well for base models.

I love the grill, Merc should start using that grille look on all their models...

The drive wheels are at the wrong place aren't they? Not a Mercedes.

What is that cheap screen on the dashboard? Not a Mercedes.

I took would like to like this car. But, in pictures at least, it looks awkward. I believe the wheels look too small and the length stunted, particularly when compared to the headlights. Yet it is bigger than a C class. I'd suggest that this is a car which will be better looking in the flesh. And the green stripe on the front seats is simply out of place and character.

Remember this is based on the A-class

The CLA is based in the A-class, Mercedes' cheapest line. So the interior is what you find in a A- and B-class including the screen that sits on top of the dashboard.

You're getting a ton of style and technology at an incredible price. Remember this is marketed below the C-class, so I don't mind the iPad like screen sticking out of the dash and I will wait for the 4matic model -- or better yet, the hot AMG model which will be the first non-SUV AMG model with AWD.

Where is the CLA being positioned?

Being based on the new A-Class hatch, I thought the CLA was being positioned below the C-Class saloon in the Merc line-up. Then how come the CLA is longer and wider than the C-Class?!

Everything cool. Mercedes is awesome, but I am afraid I could afford it even with loan. Smile

The Mercedes CLA comprises of four cylinder engines with more sporty features like AMG sports suspension etc. It is based on the A class model and have all the properties to compete with the existing class. The four door sedan looks very stylish both from exterior and interior. They have planned to launch the CLA 180 which will be more powerful than other class.
