This week's issue pitches the Ford Focus ST against yesterday's hot hatches and the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series is the subject of Autocar's full road test

In this week's issue of Autocar magazine, we pitch the hot hatch of the moment, the Ford Focus ST, against a selection of the greatest hot hatches of all time.

Can the latest fast Ford compete with the sublime Renault Megane Renaultsport Cup, featherweight Peugeot 306 Rallye and hard-revving Honda Integra Type-R? Road tester Nic Cackett  tests them all back to back and delivers his verdict.

Hitting the cover is the all-new Peugeot 208 GTI, which could just be the car to resurrect the French carmaker's reputation for small fast cars. Also in the news section we lift the lid on last week's Moscow motor show, featuring the world debut of the all-new Mazda 6 and facelifted Land Rover Freelander.

In our First Drive section, we deliver verdicts on the latest models, including the all-new Honda CR-V and Vauxhall Astra 2.0 CDTi BiTurbo. The Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series comes under scrutiny in the Autocar Road Test.

Elsewhere, Steve Cropley grills the top man at Ford Motor Company, Alan Mulally, and Vicky Parrott drives an all-electric version of the classic Toyota 2000GT.

We also welcome the latest recruit to the Autocar fleet, a Seat Mii, and we give our updates on our Chevrolet Volt and Renault Grand Scenic.

As ever, the magazine is available from all good newsagents or can be downloaded from Zinio or the Apple iTunes store.
