Audi is just one month away from revealing the next two additions to the new Audi A3 line-up: the A3 Sportback and the S3.
Don’t be fooled by the heavier disguise of the A3 Sportback compared with the S3. Both are due to launch at the Paris motor show next month before going on sale in the UK around the turn of the year.
The Sportback - the five-door version of the new A3 - sits on a 2640mm wheelbase, insiders have revealed. That’s 39mm longer than the three-door car’s and should result in a noticeable increase in rear legroom.
Aside from the extra doors, visual changes for the Sportback over the three-door are minimal but include a third side window and roof rails.
Spy pictures of the S3 reveal its twin exhausts, bodykit (including diffuser) and 18-inch alloy wheels. Under the bonnet is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 276bhp. Expect a 0-62mph time of around 5.5sec
