The top new car deals and leasing offers this week include a discount of over £5000 on the Citroën C5

If you're in the market for a new car, or after the best new-car leasing deal, you can save thousands with a little research. This is the pick of what our deals experts have found this week.

Best new car deals

The Citroën C5 offers a good ride with plenty of storage space and, in most models, excellently equipped cabins. We found a 2.0-litre HDI model in VTR+ specification for £18,233.75 on UK Car Discount, a saving of over £5000 from the list price.

There are plenty of offers on the Ford Mondeo at the moment, thanks partly to the continuing popularity of this family favourite. One offer we found, from GB Car Deals, gives customers a 1.6-litre diesel hatchback model in Eco Zetec specification - which also includes stop-start functionality - for £16,065.10. That's a saving of £5129.90 over the £21,195 list price.

Best new car leasing deals

The Peugeot 107 offers budget motoring with few frills, but it's still nippy enough and easy to drive around town. We found a five-door 1.0-litre model in Allure specification for £71.99 per month from First Vehicle Leasing. That's on a two-year contract, with an initial payment of £1359.97 and with an annual mileage limit of 10,000.

A Volvo S60 is a good way to cover the motorway miles, with most models offering good economy and well-equipped interiors. We found an excellent offer from Mad Sheep car leasing for a D3 saloon in Business Edition specification for £241 per month. That's on a two-year contract, and includes an initial payment of £1445.98 with an annual mileage limit of 5000.

Deal of the week

We already know a new Ford Focus is on the way, so there are plenty of offers out there for the outgoing model. We found a deal worth keeping an eye on from Orange Wheels, which is currently offering a top-spec Titanium Navigator model, powered by the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, for £15,644 - a saving of £4452 over the £20,096 list price.

These are just a selection of the best deals we found this week. If you find better, let us know by registering for the site and posting below.

I genuinely didn't realise

I genuinely didn't realise the C5 was still on sale in the UK. I have actually seen more Ferrari 458s in the last 12 months than I have C5s.
