Real Life Test

With fuel costs well past £5 a gallon and VED costs set to rocket, UK motorists are facing some stark choices.

Real Life Economy Test

SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive

SEAT’s Ibiza Ecomotive is a fascinating exercise in non-hybrid economy. It uses a 1.4 TDI engine, high gearing, low friction tyres, aerodynamic mods and weight reduction to reduce fuel consumption, while its sub-100g/km CO2 emission figure allows it to escape Vehicle Excise Duty. You don’t have to wear a hair shirt or eat muesli to run an Ecomotive either. This is a proper car, with torquey power and a 109mph top speed.
