You don’t have to be a member of the Saab fan club to wish the marque well. After all, the world would be a boring place without a wide choice - and Saab builds alternatives to buying a German saloon. Not as dynamically able as a BMW, but still entertaining. The 9-3 chassis has been tweaked to make it more sporty, although the car’s strong suit is its engines, from a light-pressure turbo 1.8-litre with 150bhp to an impressive turbo V6 with 247bhp.
