Citroen has released pictures and specifications for the revised C4. The visual makeover is a mild one, but the car is also being offered with two new petrol engine and revised HDI diesel motors.
Aesthetically it’s a case of trying to spot the difference. Headlights and front bumper design has been tweaked slightly and the three-door ‘coupe’ now comes with transparent ‘crystal effect’ rear lights. Inside the cabin material quality has been improved and the rev counter has been relocated to the central display unit. Top-spec versions get the option of a new HDD satnav and audio system.
The new petrol engines have been engineered by BMW, and are closely related to those in the Mini and sportier versions of the Peugeot 207. The naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre version combines 119bhp with 42.2 mpg, while the turbocharged 1.6-litre ‘THP’ has 149bhp and a combined fuel economy figure of 40.9mpg.
The HDI engines now come with low rolling resistance Michelin ‘Energy Saver’ tyres as standard, improving fuel economy and emissions slightly. The revised range will be priced from £12,695 for the 1.4 LX 5dr to £19,895 for the range-topping 2.0 HDI 138 Exclusive Auto 5dr – and that’s before the inevitable generous Citroen discounts get applied.

Re: Facelifted Citroen C4 shown
How did this 12-month-old thread re-appear anyway?
I think Nikonguy might be getting confused, the facelifted C4 was launched 12 months ago, so you'll find pictures on the Citroen website.Re: Facelifted Citroen C4 shown
Who is this Nikonguy, is he for real or what?
Re: Facelifted Citroen C4 shown
It's ok in places but poor in others. I looked at one with a view to buying it and found that while the general dash was fine some of the plastics, particularly in the rear were pretty poor. Even the salesman admitted that pretty much every C4 they sell comes back to have jammed gloveboxes sorted out.
As for my C5 well it's now done 20k in 10 months without a single fault. Nothing. That might not sound like a major achievment but it's more than any Vauxhall, Ford, VW, Seat etc I ever had managed. I doubt the C4 would have come close, hence why I didn't get one (amongst other reasons).
I take things as I find them. If something's good I'll say so and if i find it to be poor I'll do the same. Some people (Nikonguy) are blind to the obvious faults of a given manufacturer and will defend them in the face of irrefutible evidence to the contrary. Even making things up to prove their point.
