This year's Goodwood Revival will recreate the classic Earls Court motorshow from the the 1960's

For anyone yearning for the motorshow experience of the past, this year’s Goodwood Revival will boast a novel new feature – a recreation of a ‘classic’ Earls Court motorshow.

The exhibition will be held alongside the historic racing at the Sussex circuit and will be organised like a motorshow from the 1950s or 60s. In keeping with the Revival’s 1966 cut-off, it will feature both contemporary cars and also concepts looking at the motoring future from a ‘60s perspective. Car manufacturers confirmed to appear at the show include Maserati, Jaguar, Ford, BMW and Rolls-Royce: the last two didn’t make an appearance at the ‘proper’ British International Motor Show this year.

As well as manufacturer-specific stands there will be a concours d’ elegance exhibition of some of the fastest cars in the world, from the 1920s to the present day.

Goodwood even shares some distant links with the real Earls Court exhibition centre in London, which is build on land once owned by the Duke of Richmond. ‘Earl’ refers to a previous Earl of March, from whom Goodwood’s current owner Lord March is directly descended.

Having simply regurgitated the press release here I suspect your fact-checkers will have the greatest difficulty verifying the accuracy of that final paragraph
