Official pictures of the new luxury four-door saloon's interior

These are the first images of the interior of the new Porsche Panamera, the sports car firm’s four-door saloon which is due on sale in September.

The images show that the Porsche Panamera will offer plenty of luxurious touches and gadgets to accompany its hefty price tags, expected to run from around £50,000 to over £100,000.

The strongly profiled dashboard and prominent centre console (which runs right through to the rear cabin) are tailored in leather; 13 combinations of finish and materials will be available.

Other optional features include eight-way adjustable seats in the front, side, curtain and knee airbags, four-way climate control and a 16-speaker stereo from Burmeister.

Porsche is promising “exceptional head and legroom for all occupants”, attempting to allay fears that the sloping roofline might result in a cramped rear cabin. The pictures do confirm the Panamera will be a strict four-seater, however.

The Porsche Panamera will have 445 litres of luggage space (432 litres in the Turbo); Porsche says that four full-size suitcases can be stored in the ‘upright’ position behind the rear seats.

Few further technical details have emerged; however, Porsche has revealed that PDK transmission-equipped Panameras will get a stop-start system to help reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Porsche has yet to release official UK prices and specs for the Panamera, but it has confirmed that all cars will come with a vehicle tracker as standard, and that all buyers will receive a complimentary driving course at Silverstone.
