Concept hints at fast Scirocco

Volkswagen has unveiled this hot Scirocco-based Studie R concept at the Bologna motor show.
It takes inspiration from the Scirocco GT24, an endurance race car, and hints towards a future design direction for hotter production versions of the Scirocco .
The front has been redesigned to incorporate a front splitter, and larger air intakes to cool the tuned 2.0-litre engine, which is now producing 266bhp.
At the rear are more outlandish design touches, with a diffuser and a large wing similar to that found on the GT24 car
The Studie R also gets race-car style sports suspension, twin oval exhausts and triple spoke 19-inch alloys.
The concept’s interior is filled with carbon fibre trim and continues the red and green colours found on the wing mirrors and “Bologna ‘08” show badge with coloured stitching on the Recaro seats, steering wheel and mats.
