This Raging Bull's no Lambo

07 August 2007

Mention the words 'Raging Bull' and we'd assume you were either talking about a souped-up Lamborghini or a film by Martin Scorsese.

But apparently this new Mitsubishi L200 'Raging Bull' pick-up is so called because that's the name of England Rugby captain Phil Vickery's clothing company.

The L200 Raging Bull therefore comes with bull logos on the outside and stitched into the seats, but there's not a rugby ball in sight.

It only comes in one colour – a bull-taunting bright red – and with a 2.5-litre diesel engine. There's apparently £4000 of kit added to the car, but it costs £2000 more than a standard Warrior-spec L200. That means you get sat-nav and leather seats on the inside, and enough chrome to satisfy the gaudiest of tastes on the outside.

"The L200 is powerful, tough and rugged, yet great to look at," said Vickery. "The synergy between the L200, rugby and Raging Bull’s performance clothing makes great sense."

We just hope he stops thinking about pick-ups and starts thinking about putting the ball down behind the opposition's try line in time for this autumn's Rugby World Cup.
