Carlsson has launched a range of modification packages for the Mercedes-Benz GL.

If you’re only interested in updating the styling, the German tuning firm offers the RS kit for 8499 euros (£7340) excluding VAT.

The kit includes a new front grille, bumper and bonnet and chrome-tipped side skirts. New front headlamps and LED daytime running lights also feature, and Carlsson says its package has improved the GL’s aerodynamics.

A Carlsson-engineered C-Tronic suspension system is available for 1099 euros (£950) excluding VAT; it lowers the GL by 30mm and offers continuous ride-adjustment by reading road conditions.

If your budget will stretch to 4189 euros (£3616), then you can spec the 22-inch lightweight 1/11 Evo Brilliant Edition alloy wheels. The wheels come with high-performance 295/35 R 22 Dunlop tyres.

Power upgrades are also offered by Carlsson for 3192 euros (£2750). On the GL500, power is boosted from 383bhp to 429bhp and torque is increased from 391lb ft to 442lb ft. Similar power packages are available on the GL420 CDI and GL320 CDI.
