McLaren Automotive has denied claims stating the US launch of its new MP4-12C has been delayed.

The reports claimed that the MP4-12C, which is pencilled in for an early 2011 launch, would be delayed in the US as the firm was having difficulty creating a dealership network to sell its cars.

Last month, it appointed Anthony Joseph to help find dealers to sell the car and the reports suggested the task was proving to be a difficult one. But McLaren has rubbished the reports, saying that strong progress was being made towards the car’s US launch.

“All is on-track,” said a McLaren spokesman. “Retailers are very keen and the customer list is strong.”

The spokesman also dismissed claims the firm had pulled out of Los Angeles motor show, saying it had never signed up to the show in the first place.
