The F1 season hasn't even started yet, and McLaren is already the subject of the racing world's most active rumour mill.

Stories abound claiming that Mercedes will buy out a further stake in McLaren, giving it a controlling interest.

Mercedes already owns 40 per cent of the Woking-based company, which it bought over eight years. A further 11 per cent would give Mercedes full control.

McLaren had an eventful year in 2007, with Britain's new sporting hero, Lewis Hamilton, missing out on the driver's championship by only 1 point.

The team was disqualified from the manufacturer's championship after it was found to be in possession of confidential Ferrari documents.

To find out whether our F1 expert, Alan Henry, believes there's any truth behind the rumours, read his blog here.
