With the Lexus range rapidly becoming among the sharpest-looking executive saloons on the market thanks to the new GS and forthcoming IS, its flagship LS is staring to show its age. But the premium arm of Toyota has announced that there will be a new concept saloon at the Tokyo motor show next week that will offer a glimpse of the styling for the next LS saloon.

The new concept will appear alongside the new GS 450h petrol/electric hybrid, which goes on sale next year powered by a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine mated to an electric motor that boosts combined power output to 340bhp, while returning fuel figures that Lexus claim will be comparable to a 2.0-litre petrol unit.

Also making a reappearance will be the V10-powered LF-A concept, widely tipped to preview the styling of the long-awaited Toyota/Lexus supercar.
