New footage of the upcoming Jaguar XJ has been released, teasing fresh footage of the car and showing designer Ian Callum talking about it.

The XJ will make its proper debut in London on 9 July, although it won't go on sale until the end of the year.

Jag has also confirmed that the new car will be launched in both short and long wheelbase versions powered by the new range of petrol and diesel engines recently introduced in the XF saloon.

This includes the 503bhp supercharged V8, although it won't be an XJR. Company insiders have admitted that a hot XJ is still being planned and will be launched later.

All models are likely to be highly specified and customers will be able to tailor spec and options more than on previous Jags. The new XJ also comes with the option of a panoramic glass roof.
