Honda will debut its new Civic Hybrid four-door at the Frankfurt motor show later this month. The 1.3-litre I-VTEC engine, coupled with an IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system is claimed to achieve an output 20 per cent greater than current Civic IMA, producing performance equal to a 1.8-litre engine. Fuel economy should also be improved by 5 per cent.
The Hybrid will appear alongside the public unveiling of the recently exposed new Civic, and is expected to cost around £16,000 when it goes on sale alongside the rest of the Civic range in January.
Also taking space on the Honda stand will be the new Accord and S2000 models. The facelifted Accord will mark the first European usage of Honda’s new ADAS technology package. Improving safety, AAC (Adaptive Cruise Control) will be fitted as standard. On right-hand-drive models, the option of LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System) will also be available, which detects motorway lane markings and alters steering torque accordingly.
The updated S2000 roadster will now feature improved throttle control through the use of a drive-by-wire system. New hard top and three-part speedster covers will also be available, as will a choice of two new exterior colours.
