The new Ford C-Max has been spied hot weather testing, ahead of its unveiling at next month's Frankfurt motor show.

The car clearly takes styling cues from the Iosis Max concept (see picture gallery), and it will be available in both five and seven seat versions, with the styling of the two model significantly different.

One of the most dramatic features of the concept was the sliding doors and these shots show they will make it to production.

However, the rest of the car is considerably toned down, looking more like an evolution of the current conservatively-styled C-Max.

The sliding doors are only likely to feature on the seven-seater long wheelbase C-Max and, unlike the concept, there will be a conventional B-pillar.

The C-Max will be the second Ford, after the S-Max, to get a 1.6-litre Ecoboost engine, the company’s turbocharged direct injection economy engines.

Inside expect novel seating and storage and a more sculptured dashboard. Both five and seven-seat C-Max models will be unveiled at the Frankfurt show next month.
