He’s the only journalist in the UK to have done it; Autocar’s Chris Harris has become one of the fortunate few who’ve driven a real, fire-spitting, world rally car. Not just any WRC car in fact, but Ford’s 2006 World Rally Championship winning Focus WRC. And you can watch him do it, and find out what it’s like to drive a £450,000 rally car for the first time, in Autocar’s exclusive video.
This week, Chris’ video column takes him behind the wheel of the BP Ford World Rally Team’s Focus WRC. It’s no ordinary family hatch; this one’s got 250mm of suspension travel, does 0-62mph in three seconds (almost irrespective of surface), and allowed drivers Marcus Gronholm and Mikko Hirvonen to record a WRC manufacturer’s title for Ford last season.
