Development work on Aston's £1.2million hypercar is still ongoing at the Nürburgring

The Aston Martin One-77 is entering its latter stages of development as these spy shots of it in action at the Nürburgring reveal.

The £1.2million hypercar, which will be limited to just 77 units, is due to enter production imminently at a new purpose-built facility at Aston’s Gaydon headquarters. The first customers will receive their cars early next year.

The One-77 has already become the fastest production Aston ever, eclipsing the Vanquish by recording more than 220mph in testing.

Its 7.3-litre V12 engine produces more than 700bhp and 500lb ft; 0-60mph is expected to take around 3.5sec. Power is transferred to the road using a beefed-up paddle shift-only Graziano gearbox from the DBS.

Features include a carbonfibre monocoque chassis that helps keep the One-77’s weight down to around 1500kg; active aerodynamics also feature. The One-77 rides on 20-inch forged alloy wheels wearing Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres.

The car made its first public appearance at Silverstone earlier this year.

Re. the looks: Is any recent Aston bar the V8 Vantage good looking? I haven't seen this one in the flesh but the photos don't look too hot. 458 Italia is nice on the road, to be fair to AM Ferrari have sold a few pigs in the last 20 years.

That design is such a mess. And it's quite an achievement to screw up from such a great starting point.

As much as I love Aston Martins, and I really do, I do agree with you on many parts of it's looks. Part of me says it's like the Twenty Twenty project, part of me looks at the rear side windows and thinks of something else but I can't remember what.

However, it's stance is agressive. Rear haunches are bold. There's many parts I do like. It's no Callum Vanquish, but it's interesting.
