Hyundai's version of the Kia Venga compact MPV will be launched at the Paris motor show next month

Hyundai will launch the first of a brace of new MPVs at the Paris motor show next month.

A new compact MPV will be the sister car to the Kia Venga, but with its own distinct styling inspired by the HED-5 concept from 2008’s Geneva motor show and the new ix35 crossover. Its interior will be overhauled, too.

The as-yet-unnamed Hyundai MPV (currently codenamed JC) is ready for production and will go on sale in the UK from around £11,500 in the middle of November, after its Paris launch as a replacement to the unloved Matrix.

Engines will be shared with the Venga, meaning 1.4 and 1.6 petrol units will be offered alongside a 1.4 diesel.

A larger seven-seat MPV, also inspired by the HED-5 concept, will be launched in the 2011 and is pictured here in testing in the US. Paris will also be the location for the launch of Hyundai’s facelifted i10.

Thanks for the information, but it is a little confusing. The spy pics - taken in the US desert - are of the larger vehicle, likely to be called iM30. However, given Hyundai's new definition of its nomenclature, it could also be called ix30 or i30 MPV! We know a fair bit about it already. Specs are likely to be as described here some time ago.

Still no mention that Hyundai are unable to supply their current models, i.e., ix35. Afraid you'll have to go elsewhere to read about the extended delivery dates, lack of information, vouchers for optional extras to try to keep customers going elsewhere.

the firm is also planning a larger seven-seat MPV for a 2011 launch

And that is the car in the pics, not the smaller 5 seater.
