Every Panamera built by Porsche is recalled over faulty seatbelt tensioners

Porsche has recalled all 11,300 Panameras it has built and sold worldwide over a suspected fault with the seatbelt tensioners.

According to the US's road safety commission, the NHTSA, "if the [Panamera's] front seats are adjusted towards an extreme position… it is possible that the function of the locking mechanism of the seatbelt mount can no longer be guaranteed".

Therefore, in the event of a crash, the seatbelts “may not provide adequate protection for the seat occupant, which may increase the risk of injury or death", meaning they could become detached.

Panamera owners can take their car to their Porsche dealership to have an additional locking element fitted.

No one from Porsche was immediately available for comment when contacted by Autocar.

Re: Porsche recalls all Panameras

ok so ive just had a day with a panamera and have to say its a grower

the wheel/ colour combination is very important but get it right avoiding the silvers and its not so bad, i wouldnt mind seeing it outside my house every day, as for how it goes, we went on my favourite twisty road to the local track and i have to say it was very very good, nearly as good as my grandads old 214 vitesse (just nearly)

maybe its one of those cars you have to experience to "get" which will mean itll always have its detractors but surely thats better than a car that people have no opinion on whatsoever

So was Bernie Ecclestone involved in some prang recently and sued massively?

What?! Surely if Porsche have to recall all Panameras, your forecast would be for the firing of everyone involved, the bankruptcy of Porsche and consequently VAG, followed by the collapse of the German economy and utter societal breakdown? Eh, horse? Or is that hyperbole reserved for non-German marques...
