Ford has announced a new addition to the Fiesta range, the Sport +, which aims to offer increased sportiness but no extra performance.

The car will be available with a choice of either the 118bhp 1.6-litre Duratec petrol engine or the improved 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine, now with 94bhp. Both units are currently available in the Fiesta Zetec S.

The Sport + gets a full bodykit, featuring a redesigned front bumper, side skirts and a large rear spoiler. The car will available in a choice of two colours: Frozen White with Performance Blue stripes or in Performance Blue with Performance White stripes. Further sporting cues include large alloy wheels as standard (17in on the petrol mode, 16-inchers on the diesel).

The car will be limited to European markets, and based on the three-door Fiesta only. Prices and on-sale dates have yet to be announced.
