Hot Punto Evo Abarth also revealed - both models at Geneva

Fiat has launched Abarth versions of the 500C and Punto Evo at the Geneva motor show.

Power for the Abarth 500C comes from 138bhp, 152lb ft 1.4-litre T-Jet engine, and a six-speed automated manual gearbox with paddle shifters will be standard. It can get from 0-62mph in 7.9sec and reach a top speed of 127mph.

An upgraded Fiat 500 Esseesse model is also being developed, but will not be initially available.

Powering the Abarth Punto Evo is a 161bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged Multiair engine and a 178bhp Esseesse version will be available from launch. The standard car can get from 0-62mph in 7.5sec and go on to reach a top speed of 133mph.

A stop-start system is fitted as standard. Combined fuel economy is 47mpg and it's CO2 emission are 142g/km.

Both new Abarth models will go on sale later this year, although pricing has yet to be revealed.

Re: Fiat 500C Abarth revealed

Has the instrument binnacle changed on the 500 or is it like that on all the C editions?

Re: Fiat 500C Abarth revealed

I too would like to see if the Abarth Punto looks any better from the front than the Fiat version. But in every other resect in sounds good, and it looks good from the angles its been photographed.

The 500 colour scheme works well. But is there really a demand for these automated manual boxes? surely a conventional auto or even a cvt would work better if you cant opperate a clutch.

Re: Fiat 500C Abarth revealed

I really like the upper part of the car matching the hood, the Abarth 500s get some excellent colours too. Originally I thought an Abarth 500C was a strange idea, but this looks great.
