Although everyone's focused on Christmas, the car industry has got another major event in the offing - the 2010 Detroit motor show.

So while the rest of the world looks to slow down a bit, we've been revealing the first pictures and details of some of the show stars. These have included the Mini Beachcomber concept, BMW Z4 sDrive 35is, BMW 1-series Concept ActiveETwitter - follow autocar.co.uk" target="_self">Ford S-Max and Galaxy and theMercedes E-class cabriolet.
We've had a plenty of surprises, too: the appearance of Justin Timberlake (and the Audi A1) are hard to top, although the revelation that Ferrari has a secret design department is right up there.
That said, there are plenty of people out there who simply can't get used to the idea of the Toyota-based Aston Martin Cygnet, which we've seen in more detail this week.
There have also been some must-read first drives, including the mighty Renault Megane 250 UK drive, bonkers Ford Focus RS 370FR GGR and funky Nissan Cube.
