Jaguar’s former Browns Lane site in Coventry is to be turned into a hi-tech business and industrial park.

The firm’s former factory was sold in 2007 to an Australian developer. It now plans to rename it Lyons Park after Sir William Lyons, founder of the Swallow Sidecar Company which evolved into Jaguar.

Browns Lane’s assembly halls were demolished late last year as development work on the site began. All Jaguar production took place at Browns Lane until 1998, and the firm’s wood shop and museum are both still on site.

Work on the site’s infrastructure is expected to be complete by April next year.
