Forster set to switch to JLR

Ex-Opel chief Carl-Peter Forster is set to take over at Jaguar Land Rover, according to a report in the Sunday Times.
General Motors confirmed last week that Forster would be leaving the company after the firm cancelled the sale of its European Opel/Vauxhall arm to Magna.

The report claims Forster is set to take a senior position at Indian firm Tata, which owns JLR, and he will be given the job of running the Jaguar and Land Rover brands by chairman Ratan Tata.
Forster has experience of working at Land Rover, having been head of BMW production in the 1990s when it owned the brand. If Forster is appointed, the report claims he will lead the firm’s drive towards more efficient and low-emission vehicles.
When contacted by Autocar, a JLR spokesman dismissed the report as “speculation” and the firm had no comment to make on it.
