Vauxhall has unveiled its cleanest Corsa Ecoflex, which boasts CO2 emissions of 98g/km and a combined fuel consumption of 76.3mpg.

The 1.3 CDTi turbodiesel-powered supermini also produces improved power and torque figures over the previous model, with 96bhp and 140lb ft respectively, mostly thanks to a higher-pressure variable-geometry turbocharger.

Despite the improved economy, the Ecoflex can reach 62mph from standstill in 12.3sec and top 110mph.

Crucial to achieving the low emission ratings, the Corsa Ecoflex is fitted with a diesel particulate filter as standard, slotting the emissions-friendly Corsa into the lowest tax brackets.

Sitting 20mm lower and on 14-inch steel rims with aero-optimised wheel trims, the Corsa Ecoflex will be on sale from next January. Pricing will be announced soon.
