21 September 2009

Geiger Cars has shown off its Geiger GTS, a 700bhp supercar based on the Corvette ZR1.

The Geiger GTS uses the same 6.2-litre V8 engine as the ZR1, but is has tuned it to produce 677lb ft of torque, as well as the 700bhp. Peak power comes at 6,600rpm and peak torque at 4200rpm.

The GTS can get from 0-62mph in 3.6 secs before going on to reach a top speed of 213mph.

Geiger has also spent time tuning the car’s new electronically controlled magnetic suspension system at the Nurburgring.

It has also tweaked the styling of the ZR1 by adding a new wider front air vent, LED front fog lights, LED rear lights and a larger rear diffuser. It has been painted in a pearl varnish to make it appear as if it has changed colour when viewed from different angles.

It rides on 19-inch black alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch alloys at the rear. Prices have yet to be confirmed by Geiger.
