German tuner Hamann has squeezed 261bhp from a Fiat 500 Abarth. The Largo is the most extreme 500 yet from the company, which usually specialises in tweaking Ferraris and Lamborghinis.

Details are scant regarding what exactly Hamann has done to almost double the output of the 1.4-litre turbo unit in the standard 500 Abarth, the company only referring to the stainless steel exhaust and sport manifold. Maximum torque is said to be 257lb ft at 5630rpm.

The Largo sits on 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels and Hamann coilover suspension lowers the centre of gravity by 60mm.

Wheel arch extensions stretch the car by 30mm at the front and 35mm at the back and a new bodykit gives the Largo extra aggression. A rear diffuser is said to help glue the supermini to the road.

Ventilated 280mm brake discs at the front are gripped by four-piston calipers. Performance data and prices have not yet been announced.
