Frankurt motor show: Auris hybrid

Toyota has confirmed it will launch a hybrid version of the Auris at the Frankfurt motor show later this month.

The Toyota Auris hybrid will be built at the Japanese firm’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire, with its engines being made at its Deeside plant in north Wales.

When the car was first confirmed earlier this year, Tadashi Arashima, Toyota’s European chief executive, said: “Our decision to produce a full hybrid in the UK reflects both our confidence in the quality and commitment of the Toyota UK workforce and the strength of our long-standing partnership with the UK government.”

Toyota has already confirmed it will show its plug-in electric Prius at Frankfurt. Other models the firm has confirmed will be on show are the all-new Land Cruiser, which will go on sale later this year, and two customised iQ models, the iQ for Sports and iQ Collection.
