BMW Group’s chief designer Adrian von Hooydonk has claimed the Mini Coupe and Roadster concepts could be used to underpin future BMW models.
The Mini Coupe concept was revealed last week and it will be launched alongside an open-top Mini Roadster version at the Frankfurt motor show next month.

Speaking at Mini’s 50th birthday celebrations, von Hooydonk claimed the concepts could offer a glimpse into future small BMW coupe and roasters.
The designer said: “The Coupe and Roadster models could conceivably stand on their own within BMW Group, but there is certainly a chance for BMW to share in it.”
A BMW Z2 has long been rumoured and the Coupe/Roadster could be used to underpin this.
