Ferrari has flatly denied speculation that it has inadvertently let the name of a new model slip out on its own official website.
On the page illustrating Ferrari's model range and alongside the recently added Ferrari 458 Italia, a box briefly appeared saying "600 GTB - Coming Soon".

However, no picture or details accompanied the text.
Speculation has suggested that the 600 GTB could be an update of the 599 GTB Fiorano, which has been on sale for two years. The rumours suggested the 600 GTB would be powered by a new direct-injection engine and could potentially feature a KERS power boost system.
However, after a few minutes the box was removed from the website, and Ferrari insists that the box appeared in error.
"It's a web developer's mistake," said a Ferrari spokesman when contacted by Autocar. "They were updating the old model section and put a false name in the box, ready for it to be loaded up. Somehow, though, it ended up going live in the wrong area.
"It's a complete non-story."
