Bugatti is set to unveil its four-door Rolls-Royce Phantom rival at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

This teaser picture is taken from an invite to an official Bugatti invitation to an event at the show, where Bugatti is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Most striking is its horseshoe-shaped rear lights and a vertical centre braking light, which is reminiscent of the Veyron’s twin air intakes on its roof. Its eight exhausts hint that the new Bugatti will make use of the Veyron’s 987bhp, 922lb ft W16 engine.

The picture doesn’t give much away what type of car the new Bugatti will be, but Bugatti sources have previously told Autocar the firm wants a second model in its line-up to compete with the Roll-Royce Phantom.

The new Bugatti is likely to share much of its underpinnings with the upcoming Bentley Arnage replacement as both cars are firms are part of the VW group.
