Swiss tuner Sportec has launched a special edition Porsche 997 producing 858bhp and capable of reaching 236mph.

The Sportec SPR1 T80’s bi-turbo, 3.6-litre flat six engine powers all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. It also remains Euro IV complaint.

The power delivered to each wheel is as much power as the total output of a VW Golf GTI. A launch control system and a limited slip differential help the SPR1 reach 62mph in around 3.0secs.

Exterior kit includes bi-xenon headlights, a carbonfibre rear wing, ceramic brakes and an optional motorsport exhaust system for track use only. Inside, there is a removable rear cross brace inside the roll cage, sport seats and a complete leather/alcantara interior.

It will be distributed in the UK through Brackley-based Automotive Performance Services (APS) and it will be appearing at London’s Salon Prive show later this month.

Prices and an on-sale date have not been announced.
