There will be a 1.4-litre petrol unit, as well as 1.4-litre and 1.9-litre TDI diesel powertrains on offer, all of which will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The 1.4-litre TDI is the greenest Fabia Scout in the range, with claimed combined fuel economy being 61.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 119g/km.

The front-wheel-drive Scout is based on the Fabia 2, but it gets Scout-specific styling which includes protective body mouldings, 16-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails and a distinctive interior.

Other Scout features include cruise control, ESP, a leather steering wheel and alloy wheels, while options include a variable boot floor and 17-inch wheels.

The new Fabia Scout is available to order now.
