Martin Eberhard, a founder of Tesla Motors, is suing former partner and current CEO Elon Musk, accusing him of attempting to take credit for the development of the Tesla roadster sports car.

In a court statement, Eberhard goes on to accuse Musk of orchestrating his departure from Tesla in 2007.

The law suit states: “In his zeal to appropriate Eberhard’s legacy, Musk has instead sullied Tesla Motors’ integrity and blemished Tesla Motors’ reputation and prosperity.”

In a move to defend itself, Tesla motors' Musk claims the allegations in the lawsuit are a work of fiction, and outlines plans to file a counter-suit.

A Tesla statement said: “This lawsuit is an unfair personal attack and, more importantly, paints an inaccurate picture of Tesla’s history.”
