A new, more hardcore BMW M3 has been unveiled by the German car maker.

The limited-run M3 Edition will be launched next month and, as well as lower suspension, also features new cosmetic details.

Only available as a coupe, the Edition gets a black chrome grille and exhaust pipes and will be available in white, yellow and blue.

The Edition gets a 10mm lower ride height, giving it a more aggressive stance and better handling over a regular M3.

The lowered suspension still allows consumers to tick the option box for electronic damper control, allowing the driver to alter the car’s handling depending on the road.

The high revving V8 remains unchanged, offering 0-60 mph in less than five seconds and 23mpg.

Interior changes include new and unique trim for the centre armrest and contrasting seams on the leather seats.

Prices for the Edition start at £53,435, meaning a £3,000 premium over regular M3s.

BMW will only be making the car for six months.
