Honda suspends business travel
Wednesday, April 29, 2009
Honda has banned all global business trips for its employees in response to the fears over the spread of swine flu. The suspension will be in place until at least 6 May.
Honda is also reported to be considering sending home the families of Japanese workers at its production facilities in Mexico, where the swine flu outbreak began. Production at Honda’s Mexican plants has not as yet been affected.
Denso, a major parts supplier to the Japanese car industry that also has plants in Mexico, is also advising its Japanese employees’ families to return home.
