Students from the UK's foremost vehicle design course at the Royal College of Art in London have taken the wraps off their impressions of the cars of the future.

The designs, entered into a GM-sponsored competition called Fast Forward 40 Years, are the young designers' visions of the cars of 2049. They are designed to celebrate 40 years of the RCA's vehicle design course.

The winners of the competition will be announced in a few days' time.
