Mercedes S65 AMG revealed

The facelifted Mercedes S-class has been given its first public outing with an unveiling at the Shanghai show, along with the updated Mercedes S65 AMG.
The S65 AMG sticks with the 6.0-litre biturbo V12, and output is unchanged at 612hp and 737lb ft. But Mercedes has improved fuel economy and decreased CO2 emissions by three per cent by retuning the car’s engine management system.
Exterior modifications include a new grille, a new lower bumper design and redesigned mirrors with V12 Biturbo badges. The car gets all of the facelifted S-class’s changes, including LED rear lights.
Underneath there’s a new piece of kit that Mercedes calls Torque Vectoring Brake. It applies the brake to the car’s inner rear wheel when it’s cornering, which Mercedes claims improves the car’s handling and precision.
Mercedes’ crosswind stabilisation system, which corrects body roll when the car is subjected to strong gusts of wind, has also been added to the S65 and comes as standard.
The Mercedes S65 AMG will only be available as a long-wheelbase model, and goes on sale in June.
