Ecoflex Insignia hits 136g/km

The new Ecoflex version of Vauxhall’s Insignia is capable of 54.7mpg and emits just 136g/km of CO2, putting it within 1g/km of the 1.7-litre diesel Astra from the class below.
The car uses a slightly detuned version of the 158bhp 2.0-litre diesel, which gives it a 0-62mph time of 8.9sec and a top speed of 135mph.
Ride height is lowered by 10mm and the drag coefficient drops from 0.27 to 0.26, making the Ecoflex Insignia as aerodynamic as a Toyota Prius.
Prices for the Ecoflex start from £19,600 for the Exclusiv trim, a £475 premium over a standard 2.0-litre Exclusiv.
