Drivers aged 23 are 'most risky'
06 April 2009
A new study has revealed that motorists aged 23 are the most likely to make an insurance claim.
Insurance firm Virgin Money Motor Insurance has revealed that in over 14,000 claims analysed, one in 20 claims are from drivers aged 23.
The study also showed that under-25s make 26 per cent of all claims and under-30s are responsible for close to 50 per cent of all claims.
Grant Bather, a spokesman for the insurer, said: "The government focus on older drivers and ensuring they are fit to drive is of course sensible, but it is clear that they are not necessarily the greatest risk."
