Man wins £30k Wildcat for £20

A retired painter and decorator has won a £30,000 Melling Wildcat after paying £20 to enter a prize draw.
Jim Eden, 70, from Lancaster, won the car after being picked out from 2000 entrants.
He visited the Melling factory to choose the final spec of his car today, having found out he had won the competition earlier this week.
He said: “I’m not going to sell it – I certainly think I’ll be keeping it. I’m a very lucky chap really.”
The competition was the idea of engine guru Al Melling’s wife, Margaret, and was run to kick-start interest in the Wildcat.
Following the competition, she said that eight jobs had been created at the Rochdale factory thanks to the new-found interest in the car.
"That’s the prize for me and Al," Mrs Melling said.
The company is currently producing one car a month and six have been sold so far, with two going to the US.
The company is now planning to run at least two further raffles in coming months, although tickets will rollover to the next month if there are not enough tickets sold to cover the cost of a car.
