New Seat Ibiza estate for 2010

Seat has announced that it is to launch an estate version of its Ibiza supermini.
The new model will be named the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer (in keeping with the naming of the new Exeo ST) and will compete with the Renault Clio Sport Tourer, Skoda Fabia estate and Peugeot 207 SW.
Company insiders say that the ST will keep the Ibiza hatch’s style-led appeal by using a raked-back roofline and sloped rear hatch, and that it will remain “a good-looking car that people want to own”.
The engine range is yet to be finalised, but expect a newly developed four-cylinder 1.2-litre, 105bhp turbocharged TSI to be available, as well as a diesel Ecomotive version.
Due to go on sale in 2010, the Seat Ibiza ST will sit between the Ibiza and Leon hatch in the Spanish marque’s range. Prices should be competitive with sister brand Skoda’s Fabia estate.
