Bentley is to increase its prices by five per cent in response to the continued weakness of the British pound.

All UK models will increase by five per cent from 1 April 2009, but prices in other markets will remain unchanged.

The move means that the price of a new Bentley Continental GT will rise to £123,800, while the most expensive model, the Bentley Azure T, will now cost £245k.

Bentley has been hit hard by the fall in the value of sterling against the euro. Its value has depreciated by over 18 per cent in the past 12 months, severely affecting the amount it pays for parts manufactured in Europe.
