F1 to go interactive on BBC

The BBC is aiming to ramp up Formula One's profile by giving the sport primetime slots on BBC One, interactive multiscreen coverage and increased online content for the forthcoming season.
The network, which reclaims F1 from ITV for this year, will show every on-track session via the red button or online. It will also offer access to several new digital features including a split screen, a live leaderboard and in-car cameras.
The races, which start with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on 29 March, will also be available with a choice of commentary, providing an alternative to the new BBC partnership of Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle.
Online features will include live online streaming, live text, interactive forums, circuit guides and blogs. There will also be mobile content, radio coverage and will be available to watch again through the BBC iPlayer.

The BBC’s F1 coverage will be hosted by Jake Humphrey, with David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan as pundits. Ted Kravitz and Lee McKenzie will provide reports from the pit lane.
