Aston Martin has scaled back production to a three-day week in response to falling demand for its cars.

Production at the Gaydon site will continue from Monday to Wednesday. Workers will be paid for the days they do not work, but they will be required to work those days in the future. Around 600 workers will be affected by the cutbacks.

Matthew Clarke, an Aston Martin spokesman, said: “Flexible working is already in place. The switch to a three-day week is only a short-term move, but will enable us to bank the hours which will help us when the market recovers.”
