This is the Lotus 2-Eleven GT4, a track only version of Hethel’s lightweight sports car that’s been built to compete in the European SRO GT4 Supersport series.

It’s the most hardcore 2-Eleven to date, with 266bhp and 183lb ft of torque delivered from an upgraded version of the supercharged 1.8-litre four-pot engine. A new sequential gearbox, full roll cage, aerodynamic package, limited slip diff, stiffened suspension and semi-slick Yokahama tyres come as standard.

Carbonfibre HANS-approved sports seats and a FIA-approved fuel tank ensure the 2-Eleven Supersport conforms to all the regulations.

But Lotus isn’t the only company tuning up its racing cars; the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 has also just been unveiled.

It’s based on the Vantage N24 racer that won the Nurburgring 24 hour race this year, and is also eligible for FIA GT4 race series - including the Britcar 24hr that Autocar came second in this year.

For anyone that fancies a season’s GT4 racing, the Lotus costs £78,255 while the Aston will cost £96,645 and can be ordered now for a January delivery.
