Renault Scenic gets facelift

17 September 2008

Renault has released prices and specifications of the revised Scenic compact MPV. In addition to a mild visual reworking, the range has been simplified with the removal of two trim levels and improved standard spec.

The Scenic is still based on the same platform as the current Megane, which is about to be replaced, but Renault has tried to sharpen its case by grafting on a new-look front end with a chrome grille and black headlamp surrounds, similar to those seen on the new Megane and Laguna GT.

The new entry-level ‘Trim’ specification level replaces the previous ‘Extreme’ and ‘Expression’, bringing a standard leather steering wheel, aircon and an automatic handbrake.

With the basic 1.4-litre 16-valve petrol engine it costs £14,495, making it £1500 more expensive than the most basic 1.6-litre Vauxhall Zafira and £500 dearer than the 1.6 LX Citroen C4 Picasso.
